I am very excited to begin my first year of teaching with all of you, and cannot wait to get started! Here is a little about me:

I was born and raised in Crandon, Wisconsin, and attended the University of Wisconsin Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin. While in college I played volleyball and was very involved in my major and working with children, creating art and piloting new student teacher assessments. After graduating in 2013 with a Bachelors in Art Education and a minor in coaching, I was married in July of 2013 to my high school sweetheart, Dillon. He also graduated from UW Stout and got a job near Beaver Dam, even before graduating with his Business Administration degree! We have spend the last year "down south" in Beaver Dam, but were longing to come up north to be closer to our families!
I was ecstatic when I saw an opening within Antigo School District for 2014-2015, and even more ecstatic after I got the news that I would be the next Art Teacher here. I have always loved working within the Elementary age levels and exposing children to art so early in their lives. As Picasso once said,
"Every child is an artist. The problem is staying an artist when we grow up."
It is my goal to give each and every student exciting, fun and engaging opportunities in the art room. I strive to individualize my lessons to meet the needs of my students and schools in order for the students to reach their fullest potential. I love to integrate other disciplines into my lessons and hope to create strong relationships with the community. Antigo is such a wondferul location in Wisconsin, I fully intend to visually impact the area with projects, logos, artwork and collaborations. Our young population has so much talent. By the end of the year it is my hope to show you just how creative they can be!
Besides teaching art, I also love creating art of my own as well as doing almost any project myself. I love using Pinterest to help me plan my DIY projects and art lessons.
Until we can meet in person, I appreciate you visiting the blog! Please look around and feel free to comment, share or pin anything you like!
